Welcome Mr. Karr

Sorry everyone.  Last night the website was under construction, but I put it up this morning. So Wednesday in class we welcomed Mr. Karr for his first day with us.  He told us about the differences in Greek Theater and Elizabethan Theater. We got a worksheet with Shakespearean insults. That was quite fun to call each other such amusing names.  We began reading The Tragedy of Julius Caesar.  We didn’t even get completely done with Act 1 Scene 2.  It pretty much is a man who comes home from a battle and some guys don’t want him to be king.  But for the record, he’s emperor not king. That’s about it. I think.

I know we’re not completely done with Julius Caesar, but I searched for a video and every video is about the play in it’s entirety.   I found a tony award winning performance, but that told you how it ended.  I came across this video and laughed my head off.  I guess it has something to do with the fact that William Shatner is rapping.

I’m warning you we haven’t got this far, but the actors are amazing, I mean if you ask me they’re amazing.

Last blog, so sad. :(

Much love guys,

MRS. MURPHY’S LAST DAY :(

As you all know, today was Mrs. Murphy’s last day for the next couple of weeks.  So it is now too late to turn in your Hamlet money and makeup work.  On the up side, today in class we “celebrated” St. Patrick’s day. (My arm still hurts, Lauryn.) We took the Rules of the Road test.  We also got back many, many papers.  We received our grades, and I believe that is all.

Today was St. Patrick’s day.  How much do you really know about the holiday.  Here’s a quiz for fun.

Good luck! I made a 60.

Much love guys,

THINK LINK and THEME FOLDER

Hola (or Bonjour!) Welcome to my turn around on this blog thing.  Today in the glorious Mrs. Murphy’s class we took the Think Link. Which turned out to be not so glorious.  Also, our theme folders are do.  If you haven’t done that, you should get it in to Mrs. Murphy as soon as possible.  Today was a pretty chill day.  Tomorrrow is a different story though.  Mrs. Murphy will be leaving us tomorrow. :( If you owe her any make up work, it is due by 8 am tomorrow morning.  She will arrive at school around 7:30.  We will be having a test over the entire Rules of the Road novel, so come prepared for that.

As you all know we turned in our theme folders today.  I know I strugle with remembering what all the little proofreader marks stand for.  Tonight my link may seem boring, but we all tend to use proofreading marks incorrectly at times.  Study up on what each one’s purpose is.

I also found a quiz to help you study up for the Rules of the Road quiz tomorrow.  Tell me how you do. I did well until the end. I got 8/10 correct.  Just go on the site below and select play: flash quiz.  Good Luck!
